Well the BBQ was a lot of fun…maybe I shouldn’t have made fun of the weather forecasters though because the rain did end up coming 😦 whoops… Ah well, didn’t damper our spirits, we had a great time! Fare included cheeseburgers, pasta salad, fruit salad, chips and multi kinds of dips. I had some of everything 🙂
This morning Ben and I got up and cleaned the whole house, top to bottom. Teamwork definitely made the chores go fast and we were done in about 45 minutes – yes!! Afterwards I was starving so I had a breakfast of champions:
- Caramel coffee
- Braeburn apple
- Blueberry Crisp CLIF Bar
Per usual, my apple was delicious and crisp…but LOOK OUT White Chocolate Macadamia NutCLIF Bar – you’ve got a run for your money with the Blueberry Crisp flavor! This was just like eating a delicious blueberry muffin, without all the fat, calories and general unpleasantness.
There were big, dried blueberries and chunks of almonds throughout the bar that made the texture oh-so-chewy and delicious. A winner for sure 🙂
After breakfast Ben and I took a walk up to our local Target store to return some stuff – about 2.5 miles in total. It was a great walk – very humid…loved it!
So, yesterday I harvested my first “crop” of herbs from my herb garden. Check out the bounty o’ herbs!!
That’s thyme, basil, mint and cilantro. I took the mint over to the BBQ last night to make some “Fojitos”: Diet Sprite, Rum, mint and ice (sooooo good!) and I used my cilantro for a fresh vegetable dip that I also made for the BBQ (will post the recipe soon!)
I have some ideas for the basil too, but what am I going to do with all this thyme? Does anybody have any recipes starring thyme?Hmmm…brainstorming session begins now…
Well I’m off to go finish some final house cleaning items including mopping the kitchen (bleh) and laundry (bleh, bleh.) How is everyone’s long weekend going?I can’t believe we still have one more day off – wahoo!
